‘The 100’ Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Lexa To Return, Reunite with Clarke? Will Clarke Tell Everyone About Apocalypse?

Although The CW's post-apocalyptic drama "The 100" Season 4 has been greenlit, not much is known about the new season. A panel was present at the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2016 back in July, but nothing much has been revealed. There are rumors, however, that fan-favorite Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) will return.

Lexa made her shocking exit in season 3 when she was killed off. Fans, especially the LGBTQ community, were in a rage when their favorite character met her demise. Lexa's death was even considered controversial since she was killed soon after she made love to Clarke (Eliza Taylor). Now, rumor has it that Lexa will actually return in "The 100" Season 4.

This rumor comes in the heels of an earlier report by IndieWire, which mentioned that showrunner Jason Rothenberg believes there are plot elements that could mean Lexa will be brought back. Media outlets picked it up as a hint that Lexa could return and she and Clarke will have their happy ending in "The 100" Season 4. But that's not the way it works for the series.

Rothenberg also made it clear back in SDCC that Lexa is not coming back in "The 100" Season 4. "We always knew Lexa was coming back in the finale, we always knew there was going to be this triumphant, emotional return, but it was also designed as a finale," Rothenberg told Variety. "So Lexa's gone, she's not coming back to the show, but ultimately the flame is an important thing, it's a political artifact," he continued.

Meanwhile, "The 100" Season 4 will pick up where it left off, with the Sky People finding themselves in two groups: one group is in Polis, the other in Arkadia. Clarke will once again be put in a spot where she needs to decide if she will let everyone know about the impending apocalypse or not. Will the protagonist let everyone know or will she keep it to herself for fear of other people's reactions? Fans will soon find out in "The 100" Season 4. A release date for the new season has yet to be announced.
