It seems the new arc will finally pick up steam in the coming "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 101. Next chapter could feature a tentative clash between the main enemies, Ken Kaneki and Souta Washuu-Furuta.
CCG Gears For Battle, Mulls New Chief
In the previous "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 100, it was seen that the CCG is in the preparatory stages of regrouping its forces. In a recent Special Class meeting held at the CCG headquarters, one of the main topics being discussed is the replacement of the deceased Chief Tsuneyoshi Washuu. There are those who believe that his successor could be name in the coming "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 101 while others predict that the selection process could take longer.
Souta Washuu-Furuta Makes His Move
Apparently, the delay stems from the fact that not everyone in the committee is impressed by the successor penned by Tsuneyoshi which named Souta Washuu-Furuta as his successor. Of course, their reluctance to hand over the leadership role to Souta in the coming "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 101 has its merits. If they only knew that it was actually Souta who forced Tsuneyoshi to name him as successor before killing him.
For now, the committee is yet unaware of Souta's machinations. Souta is successful in projecting a lackluster personality, a little lacking in competence but certainly not someone to associate such a grave crime as killing the chief. At the moment, it looks like Souta Furuta will be able to pull his innocent card in the coming "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 101 as no evidence have been put forth pointing his involvement at the moment.
Furuta Meets Kanike
Towards the end of last chapter, it was seen that Furuta and Kanike, seen as the main enemies of this arc, met in secret. Was it Kanike or Furuta who initiated the contact? There are those who believe that "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 101 will reveal that it was Kanike who approached Furuta as hinted by the latter's surprise and question of Kanike is there to kill him.
However, there are those who believe that it was Furuta who arranged the meeting for some personal gain. Will Furuta decide to try to kill Kanike in the coming "Tokyo Ghoul: re" Chapter 101 and claim the glory?
