"The Lego Batman Movie" makes Batman do his least favorite thing to do - working with others. The movie directed by Chris McKay is the first sequel to "The Lego Movie" released in 2014. The movie follows title character Batman through his adventures in the Lego-based world.
The "Lego Batman Movie" follows Batman, voiced by Will Arnett, as he explores Gotham City. The title character is the hero and savior of the savior of the Lego-based word. But the evil Joker schemes a new plan to cause chaos and according to News Day, Batman is left with no choice but get over himself and work with others.
According to IO9, one of the most brilliant "The Lego Movie" ideas was casting a Batman as a gloomy, egocentric dork. The title character's movie appearance is more of a Goth rather than a crime-fighting hero. The hoarse voice of Will Arnett, the movie is definitely a hard-core spoof.
"The Lego Batman Movie" placed Lego Joker opposite the movie's protagonist. In the movie spoof, Joker is introduced as an attention-deprived anti-hero with painted-on eyes gleaming with tears.
The movie's humor is a product of the collaborative efforts and tremendous wit of five screenwriters. The comic team includes Rockville Centre native Seth Grahame-Smith who also pitched in the comic side of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". The team joined force to provide "The Lego Batman Movie" with jokes and puns on top of physical comedy routines.
The movie's humor banks on Batman's not so superhero-ish behavior. The title character is even seen throwing tantrums before the stoic butler. Batman along with all other movie characters was unaware that they were actually toys.
"The Lego Batman Movie" falls short of the heart of "The Lego Movie," the ceaseless pacing and stunning animation by no less than Animal Logic will surely make the movie an easy crowd-pleaser that will surely please kids and kids by heart.
