'Final Fantasy XV' Latest News & Update: Square Enix Partners with 'Game of War' Developer for FFXV Mobile MMO

There are bits and pieces of "Final Fantasy XV" family additions that gamers should expect, as apparent in new mobile game that is being developed. Reports point that this MMO is going to revolve around the universe of FFXV.

The developer behind this "Final Fantasy XV" mobile game version is no noob so gamers are in for a whole new experience. Think of Machine Zone Inc., the same group that developed the mobile hits "Game of War" and "Mobile Strike." They partnered with Square Enix to compliment the characters and storyline of "Final Fantasy XV" with Machine Zone's mobile technology.

BusinessWire reported that MZ is confident with this "Final Fantasy XV" MMO since it already has large footprint in the gaming world. It is easier to sell this title albeit in a different wrapping from what gamers are used to in console or PC gaming. MZ founder Gabe Leydon admits that "Final Fantasy XV" and the whole franchise itself is iconic figure of gaming that can transcend into a whole new MMO experience.

Meanwhile, Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda himself commends MZ for accepting the challenge to develop "Final Fantasy XV" mobile MMO. Matsuda stressed that MZ is putting its stellar record on the line now that there is a pressure to make FFXV an equally big hit in a different platform, Twinfinite reported.

There is no tentative date yet when "Final Fantasy XV" is going to invade iOS and Android. What is sure for now based on statements from developers that the project is already in the pipeline and green signal was given. Although not all of 900 employees from MZ will be working on FFXV, they have dedicated team working vigorously for the title.

Now there is a good point to ponder in this "Final Fantasy XV" mobile MMO project. MZ is a known advocate of free-to-play mobile games so FFXV has good chance of being free. What do you think? Is a name as big as Square Enix a good reason to make FFXV mobile version a paid app?
