We had a feeling this would happen.
As was the case when they had the exclusive for Batman: Arkham Origins, a few screens and details have slipped out from Game Informer's coverage for inFamous 3: Second Son, and as we hoped, they are truly impressive.
The beanied character above is that of new protagonist Delsin Rowe, another supe in the inFamous universe who boasts the power of smoke, making him seem more than a little similar to inFamous 2's Nix. While Cole MacGrath wielded his electric powers in numerous ways, we've only seen Delsin control smoke in a very limited manner...so far. Below, we can see him about to take out two DUP troops at once.
But his preferred choice seems to be manifesting his powers via a chain he keeps wrapped around himself seen above, not unlike the spectral biker Ghost Rider. We saw Delsin beat several DUP troops to ashes in the game's reveal alongside the PS4 unveiling like he was a Belmont.
Delsin may be packing some literal heat with his smokey abilities, but the troopers have their own sort of firepower. inFamous 3 trades in the previous games fictional settings of New Marais and Empire City for the realistic city of Seattle, currently under the grip of the DUP, a government agency put in place to ensure that super powered folks don't cause similar calamities like those seen in the past games. But no worries, Delsin has more than a few tricks up his burnt sleeve to keep them chasing smoke, literally.
Clearly, Delsin seems to be a force to be reckoned with, and one we're looking forward to controlling. inFamous: Second Son is planned to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4.
