'Stranger Things' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Netflix Show Signs New Cast, New Plot, & Storyline; Real Steel Director Talks About Season 2

In a recent screening of "Real Steel", Shawn Levy talks about "Stranger Things" season 2 and the director did revealed some useful information regarding the Netflix show. Levy also states that more cast member will be joining in for "Stranger Things" season 2.

More On 'Stranger Things' Season 2 With Shawn Levy

With the "Stranger Things" season 2 recasting announcements and the table read image revealed, the Netflix show had made fans curious of what is about to come for "Stranger Things" season 2 next year. In a Q&A with Collider, Shawn Levy revealed an amount of information about "Stranger Things" season 2 and admits that the team have just started filming for the show.

Shawn Levy told the publication that "Stranger Things" season 2 has no clear release date as of now and admitted that fans should not expect an early release. Levy stated that their team are not magicians and there is no way "Stranger Things" season 2 will be released in the spring of 2017, since season 2 is composed of 9 episodes.

Meanwhile, "Stranger Things" season 2 will explore on the state of healing and going back to the things were, especially on the attack with Will Byers. Levy stated that Will Byres has been on the Upside Down for quite some time and the focus of "Stranger Things" season 2 is bringing back things to how they were before everything.

'Stranger Things' Season 2 New Cast

Other than that, Nerdest reports that "Lord of the Rings" and "Goonies" actor, Sean Astin will be on the cast of "Stranger Things" season 2. Astin will be playing Bob Newby, a Radioshack manager and is also a former high school classmate of Winona Ryder's Joyce Byers.

"Aliens" actor, Paul Reiser will also be a part of "Stranger Things" season 2 cast portraying Dr. Owens. Dr. Owens is a high-ranking officer for the Department of Energy that will clean the mess of the former Matthew Modine's Dr. Benner and the rumored bad guy.
