Android 7.0 'Galaxy Beta Program' News & Updates: Launch South Korea, U.S. & U.K.; China To Follow; How To Apply

Samsung announced that the Android 7.0 "Galaxy Beta Program" for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users is already live. The Android 7.0 Galaxy Beta Program is currently available for users in South Korea, United States and United Kingdom. It will also go live in China soon.

GSM Arena reported that according to Samsung, applicants for the Android 7.0 Galaxy Beta Program will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Throughout that beta period, users will get to know details about the Android 7.0 Nougat via Samsung's latest UX. They can also give feedback on the performance, usability and reliability.

However, Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition, and the Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition will not be part of the Android 7.0 Galaxy Beta Program. Users in the U.K. can only avail of the Android 7.0 Galaxy Beta Program if they have purchased an open market version of the smartphone or a device that has not been locked by an operator.

Samsung stated that users need an active Samsung Account and meet the Android 7.0 Galaxy Beta Program requirements to apply. They have to download the Galaxy Beta Program app via the Samsung Members app or Galaxy Apps on the Google Play Store or Galaxy Apps, depending on their country of origin.

The Galaxy Beta Program can be installed after upgrading to the latest official version of the Android 7.0 Nougat. Users have to register and wait for it to be approved via a notification.

Users should expect some issues and errors while running the Galaxy Beta Program, since it is not the official version of the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat. The program is meant for the company to determine and address issues with the aid of early users.

Samsung first introduced the Galaxy Beta Program in 2015 with the launch of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Other devices will not be part of the Galaxy Beta Program in the meantime, but they may find the Android 7.0 Nougat update soon.

Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5 users may find the Android 7.0 Nougat available. The end date of the program will vary depending on the country, and are also subject to change.
