Batman Battles Deathstroke in Short Arkham Origins First Look [VIDEO]

It's been a few months since WB Games announced Batman: Arkham Origins, and while gameplay footage has yet to surface, fans can at least enjoy today's tease of the upcoming Bat brawler.

The publisher released a 40-second teaser video for Arkham Origins, featuring Batman and his age-old nemesis Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke.

While the clip shows no actual gameplay, it certainly provides comic fans with some eye candy in the form of fully-detailed CGI renderings of Batman and his mercenary rival. The two are depicted duking it out in the snow, before the teaser quickly cuts to the game's logo.

Tantalized yet? WB promises a full trailer on May 20th for those who "Like" the game on Facebook.

Developed by WB Games Montreal, Batman: Arkham Origins will be the third game in the Arkham series and the first one not developed by Rocksteady Studios. As the title suggests, Origins will be a prequel to the first two games in the series and will explore Batman's first confrontations with classic villains such as Deathstroke and Black Mask. According to Game Informer, Origins is set to have the biggest playable environment yet, with all of Gotham City finally available for gamers to explore. The game will likely be Bruce Wayne's send-off for current-gen consoles, and will be available worldwide on Oct 25 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.

2009's Arkham Asylum and its 2011 follow-up Arkham City are two of the most lauded titles of this console generation, so WB Games Montreal certainly has their hands full in living up to Rocksteady's legacy. However, titles such as Call of Duty have enjoyed massive critical success with multiple developers, and Arkham Origins will likely do well if WB is able to retain the series' signature blend of smooth combat, tricky technology, and immersive stories.

Are you ready for Batman's next adventure, or are you waiting for gameplay to be fully-sold on WB Games' latest superhero experience?
