‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Release Date, Storyline & Updates: Young Peter Parker Will Not Actually Be Punching Anyone

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is currently in development and it was recently leaked that the superhero will not be throwing a single punch throughout the movie. Tom Holland, who plays the web-slinger, explained why.

The "Spider-Man" actor told The Hollywood Reporter that fans have already seen different versions of the hero, and it was time to see the young version of Peter Parker and his alter ego. Holland explained that the big difference in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is the protagonist's youth and innocence.

He explained that every decision they make on the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" set is based on how a kid might react in that particular situation. Because of their youth-oriented approach, every fight scene was also made to be child-friendly. Spider-Man never punches anyone in the upcoming film, or it may all be done by accident.

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Storyline: Action Scenes Will Be Intense; But No Punching

Cinema Blend wrote that "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will most likely showcase unique and interesting action scenes, considering how the hero will not be hitting his opponents. In the comics, Spider-Man held back his punches because of his super strength, to avoid killing his enemies. Now, he may have to rely on his agility, intelligence and a few technologies to overcome villains.

It also makes sense for Spider-Man not to punch anyone during his first solo adventure in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," since he is still discovering much about his powers. Spider-Man was strong and agile during his early days, but was not an experienced hand-to-hand fighter. He learned how to fight through years of battling crime and powerful opponents.

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Storyline: Peter Parker Faces Three Villains

"Doctor Strange" introduced interesting combat sequences in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which may continue to be employed in "Spider-Man: Homecoming." There will reportedly be three villains in the new movie, so Spider-Man will need to be more creative to defeat all of them without being too physical.

Holland is the third actor to play Spider-Man, after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. His character first appeared in "Captain America: Civil War." The "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star shared that he watched every Spider-Man movie before he was even given the role, and shared that he picked a few things that he liked which could be used in the new film.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is directed by Jon Watts and set to be released on July 7, 2017. More updates and details are expected soon.
