‘Wentworth’ Season 5 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: 3 Reasons Why Danielle Cormack Character Bea Smith Could Still Return! Plot Details

Aside from the official "Wentworth" Season 5 release date announcement, the one thing that some fans are still hopeful to hear is an indication, no matter how slight, that star Danielle Cormack could still reprise her role as Bea Smith. While Bea's apparent death was shown last season's finale, a stubborn minority of fans still cling to the hope that their favorite prisoner somehow survived the stabbings.

This article is dedicated to the resilience of these Danielle Cormack fans who, despite the odds being against their favor, have not lost faith and still remain unfazed. For those who still remain hopeful of a Bea Smith comeback with the arrival of the "Wentworth" Season 5 air date, here are some of the ways how her return might still be possible.

Even Showrunners Lie Sometimes

True, Executive Producer Jo Porter said that the decision in killing off Danielle Cormack's character Bea Smith was a hard one to make as both the actress and the character she played are well-loved by fans. Of course the implication here is that Bea is definitely dead and will not be coming back when "Wentworth" Season 5 release date arrives.

But there are fans saying that people should not believe in everything EPs are saying, as they are documented to lie sometimes in the interest of their shows. Of course, there have been recent cases where EPs led fans to believe that important characters have died in a season finale, most notably that of Jon Snow's death in "Game of Thrones" and Liz Keen in "The Blacklist." Based on these prime examples, it is not totally impossible for fans to expect Danielle Cormack reprising her role as Bea Smith when "Wentworth" Season 5 air date comes.

Bea Smith Died In Old Age In Original Story?

Apparently, "Wentworth" is based on an older series known as "Prisoner" in Australia, "Prisoner: Cell Block H" in UK and "Caged Woman" in Canada which ran from 1979 to 1986. In the original series, Bea Smith lived to an old age according to a fan who posted in the show's Facebook page. Given this new piece of information, it is easy to see how fans in the know might still hope that Danielle Cormack could still return in "Wentworth" Season 5.

Bea Smith Could Still Via Flashbacks

One way that the loved Danielle Cormack character could return in "Wentworth" Season 5 is through flashbacks. This is also possible as it does not contradict with the season 4 ending where Bea Smith died but, at the same time, would still address fans' clamour to have their favorite character back.

Of course, everything will become clear when the series returns for its fifth season. For the moment though, no official "Wentworth" Season 5 release date has been announced. Follow GamenGuide and be the first to learn of any updates and news on the series.
