'Spider-Man' News & Updates: Appearance In PS4 Trailer Sign Of Things To Come?
One of the biggest news coming out of this year's E3 from many months back was the announcement of a new "Spider-Man" game for the PlayStation 4. It's been a while since a last standalone "Spider-Man" adaptation was as solid as the "Spider-Man 2" movie game for the PlayStation 2. All eyes are definitely on what could be done with the franchise with the capabilities of the PlayStation 4.
The new "King" trailer for the PlayStation 4, which depicts the player as a king who adventures in many different Sony-exclusive games to find greatness, features an appearance by "Spider-Man." Cosmic Book News notes the appearance in the trailer, and it's undoubtedly the upcoming PS4 version, as the webslinging superhero is wearing the costume with the much-maligned white spider emblem. Other games featured in the PlayStation 4 trailer include "God of War," "Call of Duty," and "Horizon Zero Dawn."
After not hearing any news about the upcoming PS4 adaptation of "Spider-Man," this appearance in an official Sony trailer should confirm that the game is definitely on the way. "Spider-Man" has been adapted fairly well across many different platforms in video game history, notes Inverse, and this lofty history should be enough reason to expect a next-gen classic. What's been revealed about the upcoming PS4 game is that it's a standalone adaptation that isn't tied to any of the Marvel movies, including "Spider-Man: Homecoming." It's also confirmed that it will be an open-world game, like "Spider-Man 2."
There hasn't been an announced release date for the upcoming "Spider-Man" game as well, but don't be surprised if they suddenly spring it before the end of 2017. But for sure it'll be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, and it might already be upscaled for the 4K capabilities of the PS4 Pro. Keep it tuned here at GamenGuide to find out the latest updates on this much-anticipated title.
