‘Arrow’ Season 5 Cancellation News & Update: Stephen Amell Reveals Show’s Struggle; Hints TV Series’ Ending?

After the five-year flashback cycle, there are swirling rumors that "Arrow" Season 5 will be the final bow of the action crime television series. It has been said that Stephen Amell himself, who plays the role of Green Arrow, and the show's producer Marc Guggenheim talked about their attempt to return to return the title to its outline. Is it now struggling?

The TV series' alleged returning to form is not yet disclosed or even explained. The only thing Stephen Amell detailed is they are now focusing on the show's "rehabilitation" than doing another chapter, ScreenRush reported. Will "Arrow" Season 5 be the last installment of Star City's story?

"I do really believe that this season is sort of a throw-down-the-gauntlet year for us, where we're either going to do what we do and do it well or it's the last year," Stephen Amell said. The "Legends of Tomorrow" star also justified that he and the rest of the people behind "Arrow" are looking for the "magic formula" to continue the show after "Arrow" Season 5.

Stephen Amell went on to explain that it would take a lot of hard work and strength so "Arrow" can be on air for a "really long time." Guggenheim, on the other hand, sees that "Arrow" Season 5 will only be the end of a certain chapter and not of the entire show.

Meanwhile, Siver Times reported that fans might see another death of a major character in "Arrow" Season 5 on its special 100th episode. "It looks like the hundredth issue of a comic book and it will put the bar even higher than a hundredth classic episode of a television series," he said.

Guggenheim also added that fans know him for making everyone a little tense when watching "Arrow" Season 5. Hence, after the death of Tommy and Laurel, viewers should be ready for another unexpected loss. The next episode of "Arrow" Season 5, "Invasion," will be aired on Nov. 30 on The CW.
