The nominees for The Game Awards 2016 have been released. The Game Awards show recognizes more than just the popular and usual blockbuster hits but also the small projects. This year, The Game Awards show will have a healthy mix of independent titles and big names on the nominee list across all categories.

Contenders for multiple awards at The Game Awards 2016 are big titles like "1", "Doom," "Overwatch," "Titanfall 2," and "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." Smaller projects like "Inside," "Hyper Light Drifter" and "Firewatch" have also been nominated in several categories.

Notably, both "Firewatch" and "Uncharted" dominated the nominations for the acting, art and storytelling at The Game Awards 2016. Fans and critics are not completely surprised with this news.
