Conor McGregor Latest News: UFC Champ More Like Muhammad Ali Of MMA, Not Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Conor McGregor is more like the Muhammad Ali of MMA and not Floyd Mayweather Jr. The frenzy over Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s disdain over Conor McGregor being his version in MMA is still bustling in the world of sports.

According to him, this comparison is a total disrespect. Conor doesn't have a 20-year undefeated record, is not a five-time champ in five weight class and not $300 million earning in one night. Actually, he is correct; but there's a catch. McGregor has never safeguarded the categories of paydays or ruled the MMA world as long as Floyd did in his vocation, but his impression on his sport has been like no one before him.

Conor McGregor More Like "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali

McGregor is nothing like Floyd Mayweather Jr. because he is more like "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali. His profile sounds a lot like the late great boxer. Ali was far and wide regarded as one of the most important and distinguished sports figures of the 20th century. McGregor is having the same effect, too. He is very good with the mic and so did "The Louisville Lip" Ali.

"For me, Muhammad Ali is a special individual," McGregor said on ESPN's Sports Center. "He is out on his own and I cannot lay claim to something like that. He changed the cultural background of the world. So, Muhammad Ali is a special human being. For people to say that, I am honored. But Ali is a special, special man. I am on my own expedition and doing what I do best," MMA Fighting cited.

Conor "The Notorious One" Mcgregor Is One Of the Greatest In Sports History

McGregor has earned a take-on-all-comers reputation, which is a quality every fight fan admires. When you fight against tough opponents, you're bound to come out with a few scars. Like Conan, Ali's boxing resume wasn't flawless, but the losses didn't harm "The People's Champ" legacy. McGregor has already achieved so much in a reasonably short career. If he stands to prosper, it'll be remarkable to see if he remains more Ali than "Money."
