Samsung fans are pretty much aware of the exploding Samsung Note 7 fiasco that has been going on, and just recently, exploding Samsung S7. Now, the release of “Samsung S8” is the company’s chance to redeem themselves. What can people look forward to the upcoming “Samsung S8” this 2017?
Those who keenly follow Samsung expect that they would launch “Samsung S8” in late February or early March like usual, which is just in time for the Mobile World Congress in Spain. The issues seen in Note 7 may have been caused by rushing the launching of the phone. Despite two attempts, Note 7 batteries are still having some serious issues. This time, Samsung might launch “Samsung S8” later than expected.
According to CNET, there have been reports from South Korea that “Samsung S8” is going to be 90 percent screen. Visually, it is close to perfection with it’s Super-high-definition 4K resolution. “Samsung S8” is also reported to have two rear cameras just like iPhone 7 Plus, LG V20 and Huawei P9. The pressure-sensitive screen that was expected to be seen on Samsung S7 might finally be installed in S8.
Another rumor says that “Samsung S8” could have the same curved sides as seen in Samsung S7 Edge, and of course still with two sizes. Samsung filed a patent for their upcoming AI assistant named Bixby. This move suggests that they would want really develop this area. Digital Spy added one more feature that “Samsung S8” might have, the wireless headphone connection. Yes, the one a lot of people reacted to in iPhone 7.
Tech Times also reported that according to a statement from an investor, “Samsung S8” main feature is Force Touch. Force Touch will allow user to perform tasks using only the screen, which is not found in regular touchscreens. Force touchscreens can detect the force the user is using in pressing the screen. But, Samsung fans should not expect much on the first attempt of Force Touch technology since Samsung wants to develop the technology by taking small steps first before truly jumping off. “Samsung S8” operating system is going to be Google’s latest, the Android Nougat 7.1
There are no definite dates of the launch of “Samsung S8” but it is expected to go out in the second quarter of 2017.
