GamenGuide has previously reported on speculations that Credence Barebone is the secret villain of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". Although Ezra Miller's character was initially believed to simply be a long-suffering adopted son of a wizard-hating woman, Credence turned out to be the most important part of the film. So is it possible that the character survived his fate and will become Gellert Grindelwald's most powerful weapon in "Fantastic Beasts 2"?
There is little doubt that Gellert Grindelwald had big plans for Credence Barebone in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". Finding him may have been the sole purpose why Grindelwald disguised himself as Percival Graves in the first place. It is possible that the evil wizard will rescue Credence and use his powers in "Fantastic Beasts 2".

It might seem like Credence Barebone died in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" but most are quick to point out that he was allegedly killed in his Obscurus form. In addition to that, Newt Scamander actually saw a tiny wisp of the Obscurus flying away to safety. Gellert Grindelwald might also be aware of Credence's survival and will look for him again in "Fantastic Beasts 2".
