Nina Dobrev's ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Series Finale Fans Plan to Boycott 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage?'

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 is the show’s final installment and its end is nearing with every passing day. Julie Plec, creator of the series has promised to do everything in her power to persuade the star of the show Nina Dobrev, who plays the character of Elena Gilbert, to join the cast for one last appearance, but things may not be going the way she intended.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry reports that there is a high chance of Dobrev not coming to the show for the final reprisal of Elena Gilbert. Julie Plec has commented that getting Dobrev back in the series is a matter of logistics since her schedule has been quite heavy lately.

In fact, Dobrev has had a lot of free time lately. She managed to gather up 150 random strangers in bars for the mannequin challenge and has also visited the MTV European Music Awards.
Both of these activities could have been easily missed, for her to appear on set and record the final few scenes of the show. Instead, she visits random events and is also promoting “xXx : The Return of Xander Cage” like crazy.

Dobrev’s decision to ditch the fans of “The Vampire Diaries” for her work on Hollywood productions may have been quite bad. Fans of the TV show have threatened to boycott Vin Diesel’s new movie if the actress does not make her promised return to the final episodes of the show.

According to Morning News USA, faithful viewers of “The Vampire Diaries” will not watch the new movie in the “xXx “ franchise, which will directly influence ticket sales and may crash the movie itself, turning it into a box office failure. Nina Dobrev started her acting career with the role of Elena Gilbert on “The Vampire Diaries” and not coming back is not just an offense to her fans, but also a dismissal of her own past.
