"War for the Planet of the Apes" is an upcoming third film directed by Matt Reeves and written by Mark Bomback. It is a sequel to the 2014's "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the third installment in the "Planet of the Apes" film franchise. The film stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Gabriel Chavarria and Judy Greer.
According to a released film synopsis for the upcoming "War for the Planet of the Apes," Cesar and his ape colony are locked into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the ape colony suffers unimaginable losses, Cesar embraces his primitive instincts and begins his own mythic quest for his kind.
As Cesar's journey finally brings them face to face, Cesar (Andy Sirkis) and the Colonel (Woody Harrelson) finds themselves pitted against each other. The "War for the Planet of the Apes" locks in an epic battle that will determine the fate for both species and the future of the planet.
The cast for the upcoming film "War for the Planet of the Apes" is very interesting as actors were divided into two factions. According to iDigitalTimes, the Ape colony's notable cast members is led by Andy Sirkis (Cesar), Judy Greer (Cornella), Kann Kanokoval (Maurice), Terry Notary (Rocket), Mark Lloyd-Jones (Blue Eyes) with Aleks Paunovic and Sarah Canning.
Furthermore, "War for the Planet of the Apes" also presents the human army faction. Some of its notable cast includes Woody Harrelson (Colonel), Gabriel Chavarria (Preacher), Chad Rook (Boyle) and Armiah Miller. The upcoming film will hit theaters on July 14, 2017.
Cinemablend reported that the "War for the Planet of the Apes" is based on a series of films that came out from 1968- 1973 but it is not connected with those previous films. In relation to this, director Matt Reeves may have given fans a glimpse into the future of the franchise, where Cesar will become sort of a God for Apes. By doing so he maybe able to link the current film franchise to those who came before it.
