Karma Drone Recall Latest News: GoPro Gives Away Free Hero5 Black To Customers; How It Compares To Samsung’s Note 7 Blunder

GoPro has decided to recall all units of the Karma drone due to sudden power losses. However, Karma owners were not disappointed after they were gifted by GoPro with a free Hero5 Black camera to make up for the inconvenience.

GoPro Karma Drone Recall Solution

GoPro wrote Karma buyers that they may have previously received news that the Karma drone was being recalled. As part of their refund and recall program, GoPro will offer clients with a complimentary GoPro Hero5 Black upon their return of the Karma, together with all accompanying parts and accessories.

The camera will start shipping in mid-December 2016. Customers can begin the reimbursement process for the GoPro Karma Drone by calling 1-866-886-3001 or going to gopro.com/2016karmareturn.

Customers who seem to have functional GoPro Karma drones are still advised to immediately stop using the product and participate in the recall. All Karma units are being recalled with a full refund.

All components included with the GoPro Karma drone bundle, such as the Karma Grip and Hero5 Black, are also requested to be returned for a full refund. After the refund has been processed, GoPro will give a free Hero5 Black to the affected customers.

GoPro Gives Away Hero5 Black To Inconvenienced Karma Drone Users

Trusted Reviews stated that the Karma drone alone costs $799, but buyers can take advantage of the free Hero5 Black, which currently retails at $400. GoPro did a better job at making up for their mistake, compared to Samsung, which merely provided a $25 credit for buyers of the recalled Note7 to stay loyal to their brand.

GoPro stated that it plans to re-launch the Karma drone after they have addressed the issue, although no schedule has yet been provided for international sales. According to GoPro, they are investigating the problem of the drones at present, together with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Samsung can learn some tips from GoPro on how to take care of their customers. However, the recalled Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has significantly more buyers compared to the Karma drone. This means that GoPro will not be shelling out as much to appease affected clients, compared to Samsung giving away a free device to thousands of affected Note 7 customers.
