'The Division' Latest News & Update: Expansion Pack 'Survival' & Update 1.5 Arrives Today; Gameplay Changes, Bugs Fix

Game developer Ubisoft confirmed that Tom Clancy's "The Division" released its second paid expansion pack "Survival" mode today, Nov 22. Survival mode offers mayhem with 24 groups of players fighting against each other and trying to survive in the open world.

"The Division" Survival offers nostalgic experience of Manhattan gameplay where matches can easily eat up couple of hours. However, this new DLC will only cover players from Xbox One and PC for now and PlayStation 4 later. It is traditional for "The Division" to release on Microsoft's platforms first then PS4 later. For Survival, players can expect this DLC on December 20.

Now here is another change in "The Division" starting today, major update 1.5 arrived for Xbox One and PC as well. Again, PlayStation 4 players have to wait it out slightly and Ubisoft hasn't declared a date yet, GameSpot reported.

"The Division" update 1.5 will feature more challenging gameplay for new world tier bracket. Meaning, those with 224+ gear score will face level 34 NPC opposition. But it is not all bitter-sweet scenario because stash have also increased exponentially. Players can expect changes into 150 items from the original 70 total items.

Adding up to "The Division" update 1.5 is several tweaks in weaponry. Notable among these changes are pistols and other weapons fired from hip that will have more recoil as opposed to aiming down sights. However, sniper and marksmen rifles were least to be affected by added recoil.

Update 1.5 will also sport several bugs fix in "The Division," to include an exploit where players are sometimes becoming immune to harm after threading out of Survivor Link. Further, the patch note mentioned fixing a "weird door" although gamers are still puzzled about which door is the patch referring to. At any rate, enjoy patch 1.5 for now as the whole "The Division" community awaits for the final DLC "Last Stand."
