HTC Vive Awarded As Product Of The Year: Virtual Reality Finally Creates A New Wave

The New HTC Vive wins prodcut of the year at the recently held Trusted Reviews Awards in London. With its exemplary work with Virtual Reailty (VR), the HTC Vive was recognized as one of the best gadgets in the world for both the young and mature generations and, despite facing big competition, they also bagged the best VR Headset of the year.

Evan Kyreos, editor for Trusted Reviews, presided over the event and announced that virtual reality is opening up a new frontier for Virtual Reality. The HTC Vive is a product that, according to him, reflects their values of never looking backwards and its only right that they will receive the award.

The HTC Vive was not the only award winning product that was released by HTC. Some of their other products took home awards in their categories and added to the prestige of the tech giant. They were awarded with the "Wearable award" and another "Gadget of the Year" award for their T3 smartphone.

Even with its current awards, the HTC Vive is not stopping its innovative ideas for the improvement of their VR technology. As of the moment, the HTC Vive has managed to secure an exclusive partnership with Google Earth VR, much to the satisfaction of their users.

Trusted Reviews reported that other companies also received awards during the event. Sky Q was awarded with the Home Entertainment Product of the Year while Samsung received the Phone of the Year Award for the Samsung Galaxy 7.

The Vinereport stated that the HTC Vive received the award despite facing concerns with pricing. They also have issues with how bulky and space consuming their product is. The HTC Vive is priced at around $799 with shipping while its rival the Oculus Rift is available at $600.

While it is true that the HTC Vive will require some space, fans will be happy to know that the company is already working on a wireless version of their product. Check out the related articles for more information on the HTC Vive Wireless VR.
