'A Series Of Unfortunate Event' Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Promising Mix of Burton & Rowling Hits Netfilx In January

A new trailer is out for Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" TV adaptation. Unlike the hints of the earlier teasers, we're finally getting a good look at what to expect from the series when Netflix releases it next year.

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" trailer shows off the series' distinct style, a dark and quirky blend, which seems familiar to the works of Tim Burton and JK Rowling. Neil Patrick Harris take on the villainous character of Count Olaf. He seems to relish the top performance with absurd disguises in Olaf's quest to steal the Baudelaire fortune.

Based on the popular children's book series, "A Series of Unfortunate Events" tells the story of the siblings Klaus, Sunny and Violet Baudelaire. After the mysterious death of their parents, the three orphans are put in the care of their distant relative Count Olaf. The show will focus on the Baudelaire siblings' journey as they try to escape Olaf, while also trying to unravel the secrets of the enigmatic organization.

The dark humor and wordplay that the novels are known for have made it to the screen intact, along with the narration from Lemony Snicket. GMA News reported that Lemony Snicket's narration kept the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" truthful to the books.

Netflix plans to strike a balance between the more normal aspects of life and the wonderful bonkers, as the Baudelaire siblings try to keep their inheritance out of Olaf's hands. Fo Count Olaf, viewers will really like a villain who dresses up like a 1940s femme.

The initial series of the "A series of Unfortunate Events" is set to focus on the first four books, with future seasons set to be discussed in the remaining books. There are actually 13 books of the novel that the series wants to show through television.

Patrick Warburton and Joan Cusack will also join the cast of "A Series of Unfortunate Events." The Gamesradar reports that the first season of the series is fittingly scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Friday the 13th in January 2017.
