‘Adr1ft’ Release Date, News & Update: Why is the ‘No Man’s Sky’ Counterpart Canceled on the Xbox One platform?

First it was confirmed, now it's not pushing through. Adr1ft was previously confirmed for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms and now, game writer Adam Orth said, it is no longer releasing on the Xbox One. So what changed his mind? Personal issues; not just that, but also brought by his separation from Microsoft while creating the game.

Despite ADR1FT getting the thumbs up on the PC, PS4 and the VR platform, Microsoft's Xbox One console remained dejected. While it was never detailed why Orth is pulling the game from the platform, he wishes fans will be able to enjoy the game on a different platform.

The virtual reality version of the game has also been one of the most liked game in the VR world. ADR1FT on VR is currently available on the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. Unfortunately, the PlayStation VR is still incapable of adapting the title. ADR1FT is a the title that is highly comparable to almost non existent "No Man's Sky." They are both games that feature space exploration; only the latter is subtly on a hiatus.

Orth's interview featured on the GamesIndustry, he reflected on the time he made the twitter post that changed his life forever. After the hashtag "deal with it" launched on his twitter page, Adam Orth and his family became the target of internet hate. In his interview, he said "The reason that internet threats are terrifying is not the possibility of the realization of a violent act; it's that society has regressed to a point that this behavior and discourse is an acceptable and expected response to something someone doesn't like or agree with."

Does that mean we need to be thankful that Adr1ft actually arrived before everything comes down to cancellation? Don't miss the latest news and update about Adr1ft and get the latest information here on GameNGuide.
