The recently released trailer of "Justice League Dark" showed the alliance of Batman with other DC supernatural heroes. As the animated film received a rated-R, the movie's director Jay Oliva talked about the rating it got and other events that were seen in the teaser.
Jay Oliva revealed that if he only knew that "Justice League Dark" would receive a rated-R, he should have made it a hard-R. "When we make these films, our goal is always a PG-13, so there are [sic] certain things that we know we can get away with and things that we can't," he explained to Empire.
DC Universe enthusiasts won't get to see gory scenes, beheadings and other bloody sequences in "Justice League Dark." However, Jay Oliva promised that he did the best he can to tell the film's story, although they have to edit and delete some scenes.
"Instead of showing a beheading, we'll cut to the shadow on the wall as you see the beheading in the shadow, but you don't actually see it," Jay Oliva continued. Moreover, in spite of the "Justice League Dark" title, the Justice League themselves play a vital role in the story.
In "Justice League Dark," there are problems in this world that can't be handled by the Justice League, thus the Justice League Dark group is here to help. The Justice League Dark can fight the Darkseid, aliens and other supervillains that want to dominate the world.
Meanwhile, A.V. Club reported that "Justice League Dark" will feature the event when the earth is being penetrated by the demons and dark magic. The trailer perfectly teases the fans of what they will see in the movie by giving the glimpse of the darkness, horror and demons attack in animation.
"Justice League Dark" will be composed of Zatanna (Camilla Luddington), Swamp Thing (Roger Cross), Deadman (Nicholas Turturro) and Etrigan the Demon (Ray Chase). The movie also has the special participation of John Constantine, who is voiced by none other than Matt Ryan. "Justice League Dark" will be released on digital download, DVD and Blu-Ray in the first quarter of 2017.
