iPhone 7 Not Using Its Full Capacity With A Network Provider?

After some tests are conducted it is said by some relevant experts that iPhone 7 Verizon version is not using its full capacity. Precisely download speed is limited by the manufacturer itself. There are different reasons for this move by Apple and questions are raised how that affects the performance of the device.

New test have shown that despite faster Verizon network Apple iPhone 7 is merely faster that it is on AT&T. According to Fox News two companies Twin Prime Inc. and Cellular Insights have conducted tests on iPhone 7 and discovered that the device is not using its full capacity on Verizon. It is said that Apple deliberately chooses not to enable some of the chips features. A comparison has been made between iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7, both running on Verizon and Samsung smoothly won.

Ars Technica suggests that Apple chose to limit iPhone internet speed when using Verizon in order to match its model on AT&T. Verizons modem maximum speed can go up to 600mbps, while AT&Ts maximum speed can go up to 450mbps. Therefore manufacturers have decided to limit Verizons version top speed in order to match the lower device. This decision has been made with the purpose of not losing AT&Ts users due to lower internet speed. They say that this limit will not be noticeable in everyday use.

Recode quotes Bloomberg on saying that mini storm has emerged when information leaked that Apple has deliberately limited the performance of their Qualcomm modem chip on iPhone 7 Verizon version in order to match lower rate internet speed of Intel chip used in some other versions of the device. They are asking how this limited performance will affect the device when used on maximum performance. The answer is that maximum performance is never used on this kind of device since that would be terrible for battery life. Both companies, Intel and Qualcomm refused to comment further than saying that every device meets or exceeds any Apples wireless performance standards, quality metrics and reliability testing.
