This speculation aligns well with the timeline, considering that Season 4's Freak Show theme was set in the 1950s. There was a particular scene there set during the World War 2.
There was also a noticeable model ship that fell from the shelf when the Chen ghost hit the Spirit Chasers in a previous episode of "American Horror Story."
