Android Latest News & Update: Upgrade Takes Top-Rated Samsung Phones To A Scary New Height; Android 7.0 Nougat To Hit The Market In December?

Although there are no guarantees that upgrades for some models could arrive by the end of December, that is most likely to happen. There are a few hints out that the Nougat 7.0 will make waves in selected markets. South Korea will,, perhaps, see the beta tests first, followed by unlocked US and European smartphones.

The Galaxy Beta Program is allowing some Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners to get an early taste of Android 7.0 Nougat. "But as for anyone who doesn't want to use possibly buggy pre-release software, we're left waiting on an official rollout for what's turning out to be a significant update," says Alex Dobie of Android Central.

Android Nougat 7.0 Offers A More Tidy Overall Display & More

The new OS is said to expand on the phone's idle function, allow a split screen and come with a more maneuverable settings menu. It gives the S7 Edge a more tempered looking status bar, contributing to a less untidy overall display, tech experts say. Nougat on the Galaxy S7 offers a blue light filter for nighttime reading plus new fonts and animations.

Nougat 7.0 even stops Facebook from crashing, according to one review. It will change software concerns that might otherwise bother even well designed Samsung devices, the website Android Pit says.

Samsung Users Cautioned For Possible System Errors That Come With Added Lineaments

For the next month or so, users are told to beware. Since the S7 and S7 Edge can use only Nougat's beta version; Samsung allows only certain user-applicants to be testers of the beta version, per one tech media comment. That setup has fanned confusion among S7 and S7 Edge holders hoping to download the full-blown Nougat without caveats. Because it's in beta mode, the system also might be missing functions or cause errors during operation. It would improve, however, based on feedback from beta testers, according to Forbes.
