‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Everything You Need To Know About The New Season

There is a trend in science fiction and horror television series, and apparently, with good looking actors, a great cast and an interesting plot, it will appeal to a number of audiences. That can be said with "Stranger Things". It is a new American sci-fi and horror web television series that is probably star-studded. The first season just ended, and "Stranger Things" Season 2 is set to air in 2017.

All the cast of the first season are pretty much returning and there are reports that veteran comedian-actor Brett Gelman also confirmed that he will join the show which will have a major connection to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). In "Stranger Things" Season 2, Gelman will play as Murray Bauma, a journalist who is said to be investigating Eleven's intriguing history.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 will have nine episodes. Reports are also circulating that the new season will have three new characters whose names are Max, Roman, and Billy. There are no talks about the impact of the three new characters and only two characters seen as series regulars. There are also talks that these two newcomers will be Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink.

The show debuted on Netflix and there was major buzz revolving around the nostalgia-driven thriller which is about a group of kids in the 1980s who gets mixed up in a frightening mystery that involves a telekinetic girl, otherworldly dimensions, and a monster that appeared in their small town. The plot starts with the disappearance of 12-year-old boy and his mother, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) starts to investigate with Jim Hopper (David Harbour), the chief of Hawkins Police Department. "Stranger Things" Season 2 will take place around the last part of the year 1984, about one year after the events of the first season and will show the "bigger mythology" of the disappearance.
