'Overwatch' Latest News & Update: Next Generation Esports Announces Winter Premiere For Blizzard Game; Symmetra Reworked Explained!

The Next Generation Esports (NGE) organization has been the one of the popular venues to showcase online games. As such, NGE recently stated that a major online tournament will be held for Blizzard's online shooting game, "Overwatch" in the holidays.

The 'Overwatch' Winter Premiere

Current reports states that the open qualifiers for the "Overwatch" Winter Premiere will be held for four days starting December 10 and will be presented at NGE's official website. The Next Generation Esports said that all "Overwatch" teams for North America will be able to play for the event and team registration can be filled out online.

In the "Overwatch" Winter Premiere by Next Generation Esports, only the top eight teams will be able to battle it out after the open qualifiers. The top eight "Overwatch" teams will then face off in a Double Round-Robin group play for three weeks until two teams are left.

The "Overwatch" Winter Premiere have a two-day live finals event that will be set on January 2017 to decide which team will be the victor. A $100,000 cash price is awarded for the winning team that will rose up victorious in the "Overwatch" Winter Premiere.

Next Generation Esports CEO and co-founder, Andy Vander Woude stated the company is excited to work with Blizzard. Wounde also stated that the "Overwatch" Winter Premiere is a way to discover who the most ambitious Esports partners are.

Symmetra Revamped

Meanwhile, "Overwatch" character, Symmetra has been revamped by Blizzard as reports states Symmetra will have another ultimate ability. With Symmetra's ability to create a teleporter, Blizzard plans to have an altercation between the original ability and a Shield Generator that can distribute protection to the character's allies in "Overwatch."

Symmetra's tangled shields have also been revamp, with Blizzard replacing it with Proton Barriers that can block incoming damage to the character. The "Overwatch" character can now carry six Sentry Turrets that Symmetra can drop easily on the ground.
