'The Last Guardian' Release Date, News & Update: New Japanese Introduction Features 8 Minutes of Footage [VIDEO]

We are only a little over a week away from the highly anticipated release date of genDESIGN and SIE Japan Studio's "The Last Guardian," arriving in December. Ahead of Sony's newest release, the studio released a new Japanese introduction video that features 8 minutes of footage. Check out it here.

Gematsu reports that Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has unveiled the new Japanese introduction video that features 8 minutes of footage for "The Last Guardian." The highly anticipated game is set to arrive on PlayStation 4 beginning December 6. The game has come a long way since its announcement during E3 2009.

"The Last Guardian" is designed and directed by Fumito Ueda, who admits that gamers who play the upcoming game will find similar elements to his previous games, "Ico" fro 2011 and "Shadow of the Colossus" in 2009. "The Last Guardian"'s story will be told as a flashback and will follow the young boy (the narrator) as he journeys with a feathered creature named Trico. Both the narrator and Trico are seen in the new Japanese introduction that features 8 minutes of footage of the exciting new game.

Gamingbolt warns that the new Japanese introduction for "The Last Guardian" may contain spoilers, so for those who don't want the game to be spoiled, better wait for its release date on December 6. Speaking of spoilers, some fans of the game have speculated that "The Last Guardian" will not have a happy ending. Does this mean that Trico will pass away at the end by making an ultimate sacrifice for the narrator?

We all know how emotional viewers and gamers get with animals in film, TV, and games. Some people have speculated that "The Last Guardian" won't end well for Trico. However, Destructoid reports that gamers, in the form of the main character, will form a bond with Trico throughout the game.
