When Lara Croft debuted on the original Tomb Riader under Core Design, she was an aristocrat who had no shame about exploring ruins untouched by human hands for thousands of years, daintily jumping over wolves, blasting bears, and dodging the occasional T-Rex. In her 2013 reboot, Crystal Dynamics showed Lara all the motherly love and maternal instincts of Andrea Yates, shoving her on an island that makes Dr. Moreau's look pleasant.
Hell, even before the game was out, one of the early gameplay demos showed her shooting down a waterfall, landing on the windshield of a crashed plane, falling out of that, then managing to release a parachute, only to smack through a couple dozen tree branches. Truth to be told, it was a jolt to see Lara reduced to such a vulnerable state when just a few years ago, she was shoving grenades into sharks' open, hungry jaws.
Lara's harsh treatment continued when the game was released. I'm pretty sure we all had our personal favorite ways to watch her go, what with wolves, thugs, impalement, cave ins, asphyxiation, gun shots, propellers, multiple arrow wounds, land mines, and your generic falls from great heights. At times, it was closer to an attempt at a snuff film than a video game.
But despite all the various ways gamers could watch the heroine bite the dust, for some, it's just not enough. These people fall into one of two camps: folks who think the dramatic deaths are kind of funny, or those who really enjoy the moans and groans of Camilla Luddington. For this group, watching Lara careen into a punji stick is the closest they'll get to some bizarre sort of sexual satisfaction from the voice actress without watching "Californication."
For the former camp, who'd rather just watch a fictional character dies over and over because they think it's kind of funny, the crew over at Animation Domination High-Def threw this little video together just for them, full of even more ways for Lara to die.
