The Last Ship" Season 4 Air Date, News & Update: USS Nathan's Return, Eric Dane - Chandler Gone, Season 5 Renewal Sealed

"The Last Ship" Season 4 has been grounded for a season, yet will return for its sailing adventure with a substitute Captain, Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) on the bridge. While, Captain Tom Chandler gets off the ship, which no one knows where he's going, the renewal of the series for a season 5 is sealed.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly , "The Last Ship" Season 4 will portray a bigger and grander adventure of the USS Nathan destroyer naval crew. It will be a season that articulates the near-death experiences and heroic struggles of the people on the ship. It will then put on screen a revival after the threat of the annihilating virus that almost killed all of humankind.

The storyline of "The Last Ship" Season 4 will be a season of rebuilding America, when the cure to the virus is at hand. According to Gamenguide, the crew and survivors will find their way climbing up again on board the USS Nathan. It will be a season that will unravel the conspiracies of the characters: Dane Regan, Bridget Regan (Sasha Cooper}, Capt. Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin).

However, this time around there is no Captain Chandler on board to command and do the fixing of the problems of the earth. "The Last Ship" Season 4 is not the end of the USS Nathan's search and rescue operation to save the world. It may dock for a time hiatus but will continue to sail through the next season.

Probably, in Season 5, Captain Tom Chandler will be back to command the ship. Steven Kane, the showrunner is excited about the renewal by TNT of the series. "The Last Ship" Season 4 is targeted to return for its premiere in the middle of 2017. Additionally, season 5 will follow for its return also in the middle of 2018.
