‘Avatar 2’ Release Date, News & Update: Exhibitor Relations Reveals Sequel’s Official Premiere? Find Out Here!

"Avatar" is first released in 2009 and fans are still waiting for the coming "Avatar 2." Seven years have passed, no concrete details about the film are announced yet, but there are now reports that the sequel's release date has been confirmed.

20th Century Fox recently dropped a number of movie release dates in its schedule and hinted the coming of "Avatar 2." On the Twitter page of Exhibitor Relations, the film company revealed its upcoming films that include two new Marvel movies and the premiere of "Kingsman: The Golden Circle."

Although "Avatar 2" wasn't directly mentioned, it cited an untitled movie coming from 20th Century Fox and Lightstorm Film. "UNTITLED FOX/LIGHTSTORM FILM will drop December 21, 2018," it tweeted.

It has been known that "Avatar" was produced by James Cameron's Lightstorm Film and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Hence, the untitled film coming is strongly believed to be "Avatar 2." In fact, the movie studio already confirmed that the film sequel will come around in December 2018.

Meanwhile, The Independent reported that that original "Avatar" was dropped in the Christmas season of 2009, so "Avatar 2" was more likely to be seen on the said date. To recall, the film took the global box office by storm.

Another movie from James Cameron's Lightstorm Film, "Alita: Battle Angel," is confirmed to be released in July 2018, making it clearer that "Avatar 2" will be seen in December. Moreover, James Cameron is working hard for the coming "Avatar 2" and its upcoming three more installments.

Recently, James Cameron teased that he was eyeing "Avatar 2" to be seen in 3D, without the 3D glasses, along with its others sequels. As the critically acclaimed director has been hard at work for the film's development, fans expect that the 62-year-old filmmaker will give another invaluable experience to the world of Pandora and its Na'vi people.
