‘Big Little Lies’ Air Date, Latest News & Update: HBO Sets February Premiere [VIDEO]
HBO has announced that the much-awaited miniseries "Big Little Lies" will premiere on Feb. 19, 2017, right after the Valentine's Day. It will be premiered on 9 pm Sunday. "Big Little Lies" is based on Liane Moriarty's best-selling book of the same name.
The first teaser is indicating that the comedy-drama will have murder, sex and conspiracy, reported Paste. The seven-episode limited series revolves around three mothers of first-graders whose ostensibly perfect lives gradually unravel.
The book "Big Little Lies" has three central characters Jane, Madeline and Celeste. Single mom Jane has moved to a town with her little boy. She has been carrying secrets for five years. Jane meets Madeline and Celeste in her son's school. They become friends but carefully guard each other's secrets. However, a minor incident involving their children change their lives. Soon playground rumors turn into nasty ones. This creates a lot of confusion and the secrets, which are guarded by the central characters, start coming out. David E. Kelley has created and written the series and Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club) has directed all the seven episodes. "Big Little Lies" will star Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz, James Tupper, Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern and Jeffrey Nordling. Witherspoon will play Madeline Martha Mackenzie and Kidman will be Celeste. Jane's character will be played by Woodley, as per Arts.Mic.
Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, David E. Kelly, Jean-Marc Vallée, Nathan Ross and Gregg Fienberg, Barbara Hall and Liane Moriarty have executive produced "Big Little Lies". "Big Little Lies" is going to provide solid drama with its exciting storyline. The teaser released in October promises that the series will be dark and sexy.
