Fidel Castro Latest News & Update: Dies At 90, Obama Extends A Hand For The Cuban People

Cigar-smoking Communist revolutionary the longtime Cuban leader Fidel Castro died last November 25, 2016 in Havana on at the age of 90. Hours after his death Obama announced saying extensions a hand of friendship to the Cuban people.

Fidel Castro has been the Prime Minister of Cuba since 1976 and remained in that position until 2008 when he became the Cuban President. He handed down his power to his younger brother Raul when became ill, but he remained a position as First Secretary of the Communist Party until 2011.

Fox News wrote that after losing the position at the office Fidel Castro has remained the best figure in Cuba. Ever since, Castro has been Anti-Americans. His personal life has been complicated, it is believed that he had a son on his first wife, a daughter on his second relationship, five sons on the second marriage and another son on his last and unknown mother.

Many remembered that Castro has been a cultural icon, a great politician, and an all-around inspiration to everyone. However, many still felt relieved after his death. Napolon Beqer, a Cuban American has been relieved that he died. WPTV relayed Beqer described him as a monster and an assassin of masses.

An editor of a Hispanic newspaper La Guia Gratuita in West Palm Beach, Mirta Luaces said Fidel Castro's death is still significant until nothing has changed. She added that Castro is A symbol of a revolution, A symbol of a system that has oppressed people for almost six decades. As many Cubans left their country during his reign.
