Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users were recently given another chance to beta test the new Android 7.0 Nougat. Online registrations for the Galaxy Beta program have reopened in the U.K., with an upcoming second wave for U.S. users.
Earlier in November, the South Korean-based company invited Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users to join its beta test program for the Android 7.0 Nougat. Many tech lovers managed to successfully register to the said Galaxy Beta program before the company closed the online invite.
Three weeks after the tech company's initial registration phase, Samsung reopened its Android 7.0 Nougat beta test program to interested U.K. Samsung S7 or S7 Edge users, according to SamMobile. It appears that Samsung will extend the same option to the U.S. towards the early part of December.
With the successful registration to the Galaxy Beta program, select Samsung S7 and S7 Edge users can download the new Android 7.0 Nougat on their respective smartphones. With the task of observing how the Nougat will impact the phone's performance, beta testers are expected to report system glitches, bugs and other observations to Samsung.
Given the beta test community's feedback, Samsung can introduce enhancements or deploy patch updates to address system issues. During the first phase of the Nougat test, the tech company has already released three updates to its Galaxy Beta program members to fix bugs or add new features.
Meanwhile, the Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to revamp many of the Samsung S7 and S7 Edge's features. With an enhanced settings menu, device maintenance add-ons, new font and new animations, the said update will transform the said smartphones' functionality, according to Android Authority.
