DICE offers up information on Battlefield 4's vehicles

DICE took to doing a little Q&A session earlier today, during which they provided a bit of information on what sort of vehicles players can pilot in their upcoming FPS, Battlefield 4.

With the Chinese military serving as one of the main antagonists, a good number of their vehicles will also feature in the game - planes, tanks, helicopters, boats, the works, meaning combat will take place over land, sea, and air. As DICE noted, "The ability to fly, drive, roll, crash, and splash your way into combat has long been a staple of Battlefield," so the developer "is taking this to the next level and extending the battle beyond the shores with new naval vehicles and amphibious combat."

During the Q&A, the vehicles that DICE confirmed to appear during the course of the game include, but aren't limited to, the Type 99 MBT tank, ZFB-05 Armored Car, Z-9 Haitun Transport Helicopter, Z-10W Attack Helicopter (seen above), and the DV15 Interceptor Attack Boat. Amphibious assault will also be a part of the game, DICE mentioning the U.S.'s RCB-90 attack boat, as well as jet-skis.

Even if you don't have a vehicle, you'll be able to fight while in the water: "now you'll be able to dive underwater or sprint-swim away to escape pursuers. If the situation gets desperate, you'll also be able to use one-handed weapons and one-handed gadgets while in water for the first time." We'll get that information to you as soon as it comes to light.

Battlefield 4 stars a new protagonist to the series, that of Sergeant Daniel Recker, a member of the elite Tombstone Squad. He and the squad learn that an Admiral is in the midst of planning a coup to overthrow the current Chinese regime, with Russia ready to back him up.

You don't have to be an expert in foreign relations and politics to realize this would cause one hell of a domino effect that would see the whole planet embroiled in war.

Battlefield 4 is set to release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in October, with another launch scheduled for the next-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
