‘Sherlock’ Season 4 News & Update: Air Date, New Villain; Toby Jones As Culverton Smith

Sherlock will be back with its fourth Season in January and fans have many speculations already for things to expect next season. If the newly released season 4 photos are an indication, then it seems like the new baby of John Watson will have a huge role in season 4's new adventures.

When PBS and Masterpiece announced that production on "Sherlock Season 4" will be released this coming spring, they also revealed that John Watson's new baby would have a significant role next season. PBS shared some photos for the upcoming season, confirming the news. The new photos also give fans a first look at the new villain; Culverton Smith, which is played by Toby Jones.

"He's the darkest villain we've had. There was always something charming and engaging about Moriarty. There was something fascinating and actually amoral, rather than immoral, about Charles Augustus Magnussen. This guy is the purest evil."-As stated by Steven Moffat.

In some previous interviews, Steven Moffat the "Executive Producer" of Sherlock describes the newest villain Culverton Smith as being the purest evil it could have in the show. The producer also discussed one of the best villain in the show which is Charles Augustus.

Sherlock season 4 will recognize the return of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as "Holmes and Watson." In favor to that, fans will expect see multiple trailers for the upcoming season, the most recent of which expose at the return of Moriarty.

The premiere episode of Sherlock season 4 is entitled with "The Six Thatchers," reuniting the high-functioning lunatic Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson as his trusted sidekick.

"Sherlock" season 4 is arranged to premiere in the United States and United Kingdom on January 1, 2017. Same as the first three seasons, the upcoming season will also comprise three new episodes.
