"Quantico" Season 2 shocking winter finale did not hesitate to drop a bomb--quite literally--on its viewers, as Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin) and Nimah Amin (Yasmine Al Massri) are revealed to be part of the Citizens' Liberation Front terrorist group that Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) is trying desperately to untangle. With the crushing realization that her ex-lover is actually a terrorist, Alex's life is changed forever.

But an even more terrifying prospect looms around the corner for "Quantico" Season 2: the possibility of cancellation, as ABC decided to move "Quantico's" timeslot to Monday, same time, starting January. Does this mean the end for the action-thriller drama?

What went down

"Quantico" Season 2 had been a wild goose chase of suspects who were supposedly involved with CLF, and the people on that list ranged from Miranda Shaw (Aunjanue Ellis) to Harry Doyle (Russell Tovey). Instead, the real answers took everyone by surprise when it revealed that meek, pacifist Nimah has been part of the terrorist group for six months now.

Before viewers had any time to breathe from the shock, Alex then began engaging a rogue terrorist--who later on turned out to be Ryan Booth. But while enjoyable, the high-stakes twists and turns in "Quantico" Season 2 might turn out unsustainable in the end.

Threats of cancellation

After the winter finale of "Quantico" Season 2, ABC announced that they would be moving the show to the Monday slot formerly occupied by Hayley Atwell-led drama, Conviction, reported TVLine. This led several reports to believe that the Josh Safran-led series might finally fold, especially with reports of declining viewership.

Talks of a "Quantico" Season 3 is also put on hold especially as Priyanka Chopra's Hollywood career continues to take off. Other reports speculated that "Quantico" Season 3 might be delayed until 2018. Will that fly for the show's avid fans? Stay tuned for more news on "Quantico" Season 2.
