After 28 days of hiatus, the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns with "Deals with our Devils" episode packed with suspense and cliffhanger. The episode on November 29 took off exactly where "The Good Samaritan" ended.
"Deals with our Devils" began with Mack and May who came running towards where Eli had transformed and appeared confused. Coulson and Fitz were nowhere to be found and the SHIELD zeroes in on Eli Morrow who murdered some of the agents using pure carbon. The bodies of the slain agents were discovered by May and Mack but due to the pure carbon, they were unable to track down Eli.
Meanwhile, security footage showed how some agents of the SHIELD disappeared from the blast that gave Eli his new powers. And while Mack, May, Daisy, Gabe and director Mace who saw the footage were ready to accept the fate of their co-agents, Quake reminded them that they are all equally vulnerable. So they informed Simmons of the happening with a view of finding the truth. May came to a realization that Eli is behind everything and Mace suggested that Simmons could be the only agent who can find out a way to battle with Eli.
So Simmons was transported to a secret place where an inhuman is currently having its Terrigenesis process. Mack said he has hints on Eli's whereabouts and suggested on monitoring the crew in Chinatown. May, on the other hand, believes the agents are still alive and told Mack the Darkhold is with her.
Coulson and Fitz are in the lab still, and can hear Mack and May, but the latter cannot see or hear Coulson and Fitz. Fitz and Coulson followed the agents back to their aircraft and saw the footage. On this point, we learned that the Darkhold was not opened and Robbie's spirit was trying to get out. Robbie saw that his spirit left him and possessed Mack. They knew that Mack was hunting down the crew in Chinatown. The chase began.
Mack easily got down on the Chinatown crew and was tracked down by Quake who borrowed Ghost Rider's car. By this time, Mack was able to blend with his demons. Back to Simmons, who was studying something that is trapped in the extended Terrigenesis state and told her handlers to let them be. It turned out that Simmons, using kindness can break through them. But while she was peeling off the inhuman's skin, she was abducted.
The Darkhold was finally opened after a few arguments about it and after AIDA suggested. May and Radcliffe were in the same room with Fitz and Coulson. Arguments ensued but it ended with AIDA being able to create the portal leading to another dimension. When the portal opened, the agents fought against the Dark Dimension and escaped. Simmons was fine and went back to SHIELD.
