Victoria's Secret Fantasy bra this year is disappointing for many. Instead of a spectacle that it was yearly, many felt that this year, it fell short. For $3 million dollars, many feel as if the Victoria's Secret Fantasy bra is quite boring.
The Victoria's Secret Fantasy bra was debuted on the catwalk in the 2016 Paris show Wednesday night. It was worn by Californian model Jasmine Tookes. While the model looked incredible donning the very expensive bra, many question why for such a price, the bra looked quite cheap and dull. Many took to Twitter to air their reactions.
A Twitter user wrote, "Here's the boring fantasy bra for anyone who's interested #VSFashionShow", with a picture of the model in the bra." Some said that while the minimalist look is in this year, the Fantasy bra is not worth its price if its plain and yet comes with million dollars price tag.
Others speculated that this might even have to do with race. Since this is the first time that a black model was given the privilege to strut on the runway with the Victoria's Secret Fantasy bra, everyone was hoping she get to do it with a nice, more stunning bra.
"I'm disappointed that the first black woman in so many years to finally get the fantasy bra got such a boring bra," one Victoria's Secret fan wrote.
While fans do not have great things to say about the bra, there is no doubt that Jasmine modeled it beautifully. Last month, when she was announced as the model, the joy in her was obvious. She shared to Vogue UK that she did not really expect it. "When they told me, I was so caught off guard, I thought I was just doing an interview, and Ed [Razek, Victoria's Secret chief marketing officer] kind of sprung it on me."
Once it sunk in, she felt very happy and proud. She shared that she ha been watching over the years these models, who she perceived as "icons." To join them is therefore "such an honor."
