Microsoft's popular "Halo 5: Guardians" is set to become the basis of a reality-competition eSports series. 343 Industries just announced that a deal with Pilgrim Media Group has been settled about the game's eSports scene, which will be soon witnessed by TV audiences.

Pilgrim Media Group is behind reality TV shows such as "American Chopper," "Wicked Tuna" and "The Ultimate Fighter." While it seems like "Halo 5" is going to be a part of its roster soon, details of what it involves are hard to come by. An air date and its stars have not been mentioned yet, and it's still vague where one could watch it, GameSpot reports.

'Halo 5' Reality TV: How Will Fans Receive It?

The deal for the "Halo 5" show marks the first time Pilgrim Media, video game league ESL and Lionsgate will work together in distributing original eSports content for TV and supposedly in digital platforms. Previously, Lionsgate entered an equity investment in Pilgrim Media, Variety reports.

The "Halo" franchise has earned more than $5B worldwide since its inception in 2001. According to 343 Industries, eSports is an integral part of "Halo 5," which means fans will more likely devour the upcoming TV show.

"Halo 5" indeed is a promising video game, as featured in the Halo Championship Series (HCS) and Halo World Championship. These events showcase top North American and European teams, in which they compete for the coveted title.

"Halo 5" Team & Pilgrim: Positive On The Reality TV Series

"We continue to be blown away by the sheer excitement surrounding eSports," said Craig Piligian, CEO of Pilgrim. "Esports and 'Halo' fans are exceedingly passionate about gaming and devoted to their favorite titles and franchises - they are exactly the kind of audience we want to produce for," he added.

Meanwhile, Halo Transmedia head Kiki Wolfkill said that Pilgrim is the perfect partner in giving fans insight into the world of "Halo 5" eSports. 343 Industries and Pilgrim are yet to announce more updates of the reality TV series in the weeks to come.
