‘South Park’ Season 20 Episode 9 Continues To Entertain Audiences; Ratings Highest Since 1999! More Spoilers, News & Updates

"South Park" Season 20 Episode 9 continued to dish its own unique takes on current issues everyone is facing and continues to resonate with audiences. In fact, the entire twentieth season is particularly considered relevant to today's audiences with its themes of internet troll and the inescapable presidential election, topics that earned the show soaring ratings.

In the recent "South Park" Season 20 Episode 9, the entire town was facing the TrollTrace activation threat. Most residents seem resigned to their fate of whatever chaos the service could bring save for Kyle who gave a pep talk to rally its citizens, or at least attempted to rally them anyway. TrollTrace is an internet service marketed as a way to identify online trolls but is actually a covert Danish operations design to turn nations against each other, in a bid at world domination.

Thankfully, Mr Slave was there to save the day in "South Park" Season 20 Episode 9. Mr Slave was the only person who was able to convince the new president-elect, Garrison, to nuke Denmark, reports IGN. Meanwhile, Kyle's mom is experiencing worsening emotional meltdowns, no doubt exacerbated by Ike's potty mouth. There is also Cartman and Heidi's story with Butters thrown into the mix making it even more interesting.

Of course, many believe that President Garrison is based on President Donald Trump, as stated in this The Hollywood Reporter article.  It is suspected that "South Park" showrunners believed that Hillary would have won last election and had prepared a plot with that in mind beforehand. With Trump's surprise victory, part of the "South Park" Season 20 episode that aired after the election had to be rewritten.

Due to the numerous "South Park" Season 20 sub plots that are yet unresolved, there are those who suspect that the upcoming season finale would not be sufficient to tie up all its loose ends. It is highly possible that this season will end in a cliffhanger or with a season finale that may be totally stand alone without any regard to whatever plots the current season may have.

But it looks like whatever direction its showrunners would take the "South Park" Season 20 storyline, viewers would be entertained nonetheless. Ratings-wise, the current season is said to have gained 16 percent compared to last season, setting the show's rating at an all-time high since 1999.
