New reports suggest that Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, will get assassinated in "House of Cards" Season 5 while running against the characters of Hillary Clinton and the U.S. president-elect Donald Trump. The reports also say that the assassination will be orchestrated by his own wife Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright.
Apparently, Claire decided to take matters into her own hand by assassinating Frank after conniving with Doug Stamper, played by Michael Kelly, to earn the sympathy of the American people. She will then replace her husband as a candidate for the U.S election and run against Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in "House of Cards" Season 5.
During his past interview with Gack Hollywood, Kelly mentioned that the addition of the two characters in the upcoming "House of Cards" Season 5 has nothing to do with the real life scenario between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. There are reports saying that the latter will come out victorious in the upcoming election in the series, which is not exactly what happened in real life.
Meanwhile, "House of Cards" Season 5 will also have new showrunners following the departure of series creator Beau Willimon. He will be replaced by Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese.
According to a report by Variety, the lead star of the show Kevin Spacey, who is also an executive producer of the series, stated that he is excited about working together with Pugliese and Gibson. The two writers are also said to be looking forward to work with Spacey and the rest of the people behind the upcoming "House of Cards" Season 5.
As of the moment, Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of the fifth season. However, upcoming "House of Cards" season 5 is expected to arrive in 2017.
