'Dragon Ball Super' Latest News & Update: Voice Cast for Dubbed Version Unveiled by Funimation

"Dragon Ball Super" has been released in Japan for a while now and a lot of fans from the Western region have been waiting for the arrival of the English dubbed version. Recently, the English voice cast has been revealed for the upcoming dubbed version of the television series, and it features some of the original cast.

Back in November, reports have stated that Funimation revealed to the public that they were going to air the dubbed version of "Dragon Ball Super" to the Western market. The company has always been known to distribute the long-running franchise of the animated series in North America. Funimation has always partnered up with Toei Animation in terms of creating the dubbed version of the television show.

Funimation has also unveiled the English voice cast of "Dragon Ball Super" by posting a statement on their website. Some of the cast members are already veterans in the show and have been voicing the iconic characters from the original "Dragon Ball Z." Many fans will be familiar with Sean Schemmel as he will reprise his role as Son Goku. Christopher R. Sabay will also rejoin the cast as the rival of Goku which is Vegeta. Sabat will also be the one to give live to Piccolo, and Sonny Strait will return once again as Krillin.

Other voice actors that will also reprise their roles in "Dragon Ball Super" are Jason Douglas and Ian Sinclair who plays Beerus and Whis respectively. The two character are actually new to the franchise, but they were first introduced in the movie, "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods," which was released back in 2013. The duo also returned in the 2015 film called "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F."

"Dragon Ball Super" will take place right after the Majin Buu saga, and planet Earth is still enjoying the momentary peace. Eventually, another threat will loom over the planet, and Son Goku and his allies will need to save it once again from the beings that intend to harm it.

Funimation still has not announced the air date yet of the English dubbed version of "Dragon Ball Super." Meanwhile, fans can watch the subtitled episodes on FunimationNow, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki.net. New episodes are released every Saturdays at 8:30 pm ET.
