'One Punch Man' Season 2 Release Date, Latest News & Update: Yusuke Murata Needs More Time Before Announcing New Season's Premiere Due to Plot's Complexity?

Fans of the hit series "One Punch Man" may need to wait longer for the release of season 2. New reports suggest that illustrator Yusuke Murata is taking his time in producing the material for the new season.

"One Punch Man" season 2 production is well underway but there's no specific release date announced yet. Recent reports suggest that the reason why Murata is not yet making official announcements regarding the release is due to the complexity of the series' overall plot. There are numerous print material that need to be produced for a show like "One Punch Man." It may be too early to predict any potential release dates.

Screen Rant noted in September that "One Punch Man" is one of the most complex series there is. There are lots of material that comprise the first season and there are lots more needed to complete everything needed for the second installment. This could mean that a "One Punch Man" season 2 release date this Christmas is far from reality.

There have been reports over the past weeks that a Christmas 2016 release is possible for "One Punch Man" season 2. However, Murata has not addressed the rumors and Madhouse has remained mum over the topic as well. It remains to be seen when the series will return for its new installment.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that "One Punch Man" season 2 will see a weakened Saitama. After his battle with Lord Boros, some fans pointed out that he might have lost some of his powers. If he is to fight someone as strong as Garou in "One Punch Man" season 2, fans can expect the indomitable hero to at least fall down a couple of times, or worse, be defeated.

Other "One Punch Man" season 2 spoilers reveal that aside from Garou, Saitama will also square off against Amai Mask. The said villain is one of the most popular in the Hero's Association. Fans expect the battle to be a personal one from Saitama's side, knowing that Amai Mask has all the qualities he doesn't have.

"One Punch Man" season 2 is expected to premiere sometime 2017. Madhouse and Yusuke Murata have yet to make the official announcement, though.
