UFC World Boxing Organization News & Updates: Conor McGregor Got His Boxing License; Challeges Mayweather’s Manager

Conor McGregor applied for and was given a boxing license by the state of California this week. The news drew plenty of buzz and led many to believe that perhaps a boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. was not as impossible as once thought.

Conor McGregor, the currently "Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)" Lightweight champion and the former "Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)" Featherweight champion did a "Question & Answer" last Friday at the Devenish bar in Belfast and explained a bit why he got the boxing license.

"It's their move now. I've presented myself here. I have the boxing license," as Conor Mcgregor said referring to Mayweather's side.

"But that doesn't necessarily mean he's targeting Floyd Mayweather as his first fight. We are not worried about Conor Mcgegor though," as stated by Leonard Ellerbe in an interview in ESPN.  "They're scrambling right now, but that's OK. I'll leave them scrambling. I've got some other boxing opportunities, some potential opponents in mind. It can be some Floyd Mayweather's previous opponents. I can bring in anyone in the game. We'll see what happens," as added by the statement of Mcgregor.

Conor McGregor, 28 years of age; is under contract with the "Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)" and that is the only organization that can promote him in a combat sports contest, per his contract. Both McGregor and Mayweather have kept the possibility in the news, though, sniping at each other on TMZ and the like.

Conor "The Notorious" Mcgregor just became the first two-weight world champion in "Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)" history at UFC 205, knocking out Eddie Alvarez in the second round at Madison Square Garden.

"Fuck Floyd's manager! Tell him to come say it to me face. I've got the boxing license, now Floyd's in the Bahamas. He was just there a minute ago and I get the boxing license and he's gone," as stated by Conor Mcgregor.
