‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Latest Spoilers, News & Update: Tom Payne Reveals His Character Paul Rovia Is Gay! Plot Details, Predictions

Paul “Jesus” Rovia, the character played by actor Tom Payne in “The Walking Dead” Season 7, is gay. Tom Payne just outed his character from the American horror drama TV series.

Paul Rovia is a member and scout for the Hilltop Colony who was a recurring character in the last season and a regular cast in “The Walking Dead” Season 7. In the comic book, he is openly gay and in an on-and-off relationship with a Hilltop doctor named Alex. In the TV series, his surname was changed to Rovia.

Fans have been speculating about Paul Rovia’s sexuality the past season. However, Tom Payne decided to confirm to followers of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 what they have long been suspecting, Wetpaint notes.

Is Daryl Dixon Also Gay?

Besides Paul Rovia, another “The Walking Dead” Season 7 character rumored to be gay is Daryl Dixon. However, Norman Reedus, the actor who portrays an ill-tempered man known for hunting skills and killing walkers, has yet to confirm or deny the rumor.

Paul Rovia may be more visible in the coming episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 because of his escape from Negan’s compound and being on the way to the Sanctuary. He may soon begin to connect with some of the disparate communities, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Negan’s Smack

In a recap of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 Sunday episode, Insider reports that Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, struck fear again into everyone he came in contact with except for one character who has decided she had enough of his foul mouth. Olivia, played by Ann Mahoney, smacked the Savior leader’s face after his suggestion to screw the brains out of Olivia if she agrees.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan told Ann Mahoney to really slap him, and she did quite hard, although Morgan was okay with the slap, the production crew were shocked. Despite being a small person, Ann Mahoney said she grew up with brothers which explains why she is strong physically. The scene was shown in “The Walking Dead” Season 7 Sunday episode aired 9/8c on AMC.
