Nvidia's PC specs for Call of Duty: Ghosts are incorrect

Call of Duty: Ghosts' PC Specs from Nvidia are 'unofficial'

Looks like Nvidia was a bit overeager to get some information out into the world, apparent false information according to a recent tweet from Call of Duty: Ghosts' publisher Activision.

Earlier this week, Nvidia reported that at minimum, Call of Duty: Ghosts would require a bare mimimum of 50GB in order to run on PC. But Activision Support is saying via Twitter that the specs Nvidia provided are un-official.

It's always questionable when information comes from a non-official source, so when asked if the specs were official, Activision Support responded with, "Unfortunately they are not. Please stay tuned for the official requirements coming soon, thank you."

It's odd though, as Nvidia has a fairly good track record when providing specs. Something similar happened with Ubisoft and Watch Dogs, the wrong specs for which popped up on NeoGAF.

Suspicion first arose when the specs demanded a bit more memory than most other games. Comparatively, BioShock Infinite takes up 20GB minimum with 30GB recommended, and Saints Row 4 needed only 10GB, so I can only hope that Ghosts is one sharp looking game. The game's nearest rival, DICE and EA's Battlefield 4, needs 30GB to run smoothly.

New specs should be provided soon.

Call of Duty: Ghosts takes place in a near future following an attack from space (not aliens) that leaves Los Angeles virtually wiped out, and the US infrastructure devastated, Years later, the country is invaded by a new superpower calling itself the "Federation." What's left of America's special forces have come together to form the titular "Ghosts," and it's up to them to wage guerilla warfare against the Federation in order to protect what remains of the United States, and drive them out.

The game hits PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on November 5. It will also be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on their respective launch dates later that month.
