The "Fast and Furious" franchise has been with fans for years now, and its biggest selling point is "family." That's why fans were shocked to learn that Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson sparred in the set. However, the feud has already been settled and the cast is now excited for the new film, with Michelle Rodriguez playing the role of Letty saying, "Our family will be challenged like never before" in "Fast 8."
The first trailer for "Fast 8" will come out on Sunday, December 11, as Universal Studios announced, but ahead of that, the studio revealed a featurette, in which fans can see the stars of the movie series talk about where the franchise has gone for over the years. In the featurette, it has been revealed by Michelle Rodriguez that they will face new challenges. The movie also features new adversaries that will "show no mercy." Speculations have it that this is in reference to a new villainous character that is played by Charlize Theron.
The plot of the movie is still unclear, but it is safe to say that this movie will test the bonds of the "Fast 8" family where a new alliance is formed, with more trust and betrayal issues. The film is expected to take place in New York City, with scenes from Cuba where Dom Toretto's (Vin Diesel) family is introduced, as well as scenes in Iceland.
In addition to Vin Diesel who will be reprising his role as Dom Toretto, stars that are coming back to "Fast 8" are Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black, Jason Statham, and Kurt Russell. Newcomers to the movie series include Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron, and Kristofer Hivju.
"Fast 8" is directed by F. Gary Gray. The movie is scheduled for release on April 14, 2017.
